The Gunpowder Kitchen & Bar offers informal, comfortable dining designed to complement the self-catering experience at Melfort Village.
Guests can enjoy the flexibility of choosing when to dine out, with food and drink available on site as an easy alternative to cooking in your cottage. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, making it suitable for couples, families and groups alike. Dogs are also welcome in the Restaurant but we ask they they are kept on the lead at all times.
Menus and offerings vary seasonally, allowing the kitchen to adapt throughout the year. They also have a specials board which changes regularly to showcase the very best local seasonal produce.

The bar at The Gunpowder Kitchen & Bar provides a friendly, relaxed setting to enjoy a drink after a day exploring Argyll, catching up with friends and neighbours around the resort, or simply unwinding close to your accommodation. With its warm, sociable atmosphere, it has become a natural gathering place for guests staying at Melfort Village.
The bar regularly hosts Melfort Village music nights on Tuesdays at 8.30pm, alongside its own programme of events and live music, creating a lively yet laid-back social scene throughout the year. To stay up to date with what’s on during your stay, guests are encouraged to follow the bar’s Facebook page for the latest listings and event details.
Proud of its drinks offering, the bar stocks a wide range of ales, ciders, spirits and a carefully curated wine list, alongside a cocktail menu for those looking for something a little different. There is also an extensive whisky and gin selection, featuring many much-loved local distilleries from across the region. Local ales are supplied by Leven Ales, bringing a true taste of the West Highlands to the bar.
